The city reflects people's thoughts, ideas and relationships in the physical space. Urban law examines the regulations governing the city, the relationship between citizens and the government, also it is the basis of citizenship rights. To understand this importance, it is necessary to know the concept of "citizenship" and "urban society issues". Because, on the one hand, the concept of citizenship means that the entire society enjoys all civil-political rights and their participation in order to achieve the desired management of the urban society based on justice. On the other hand, the urban society is facing a lot of social issues and problems, housing, environment, traffic, etc. With the change in the civil responsibility of the government over many centuries and the spread of libertarian ideas, today the government is the protector of justice and fairness. It is clear that in the process of these developments, taking appropriate measures by governments is also effective in the process of legitimizing political power. In this research, by using the descriptive-analytical method, thematic-conceptual tracking in the legal sources and laws related to citizenship rights in Turkey, the role of citizenship in urban rights is discussed with the approach of urban management. The obtained results show that provision of awareness settings, application and participation of citizens in enjoying citizenship rights is one of the most important measures of urban management in the Republic of Türkiye. And urban rights in providing a balance between the interests of individuals and the society is one of the most important principles that is repeatedly placed on the agenda. Therefore, according to the economic, social, cultural indicators and the attitude of livable sustainability, the prosperity of the city integrally means the prosperity of the people or citizenship.
